In addition to posting the photos online, photography can be a resource in the physical shelter too. One shelter I work with has a photograph of each cat posted on the door of the room that they are in. It helps volunteers and potential adopters identify the individual cats while walking through. They offer a glimpse of the animals’ personalities, which is nice when they’re napping or having a bad day.
Another use for the prints is to aid the medical staff in administering medicine and dietary food. The prints have magnets on the back, so the photos can be taken off the door and brought to where medical supplies are kept. They have over 300 cats and specialize in animals that need extra care.
